the Conceiving Diary

Introduction

In 2024, I faced one of the most challenging experiences of my life. My partner and I decided to start trying for a baby, thinking it would be a simple and straightforward process, like what we often see portrayed everywhere. Instead, I experienced three recurrent miscarriages, with my last pregnancy ending in the heart-breaking diagnosis of our little one having Patau syndrome. The emotional toll has been immense, with grief taking hold and feeling like I was being kicked down almost every day. I found myself diving into the dark corners of the internet, desperately seeking answers and support to understand how we ended up here.

Now, in 2025, we have additional diagnoses of Celiac disease, my Rheumatoid Arthritis, and positive antibodies. We are pivoting into the world of fertility treatment and support.

I’m now on a new path—working with fertility specialists and learning more about my health conditions to pave the way for a successful pregnancy. This blog serves as my personal diary, where I’ll share daily updates on my journey, my struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. I hope to connect with others who may be going through a similar experience, offering support, understanding, and solidarity along the way.
